What is DesertVault and how does it work?

The only product that transforms from doormat to lockbox in 5 seconds.

Desertvault is a doormat lockbox that protects your incoming and outgoing packages. It functions as a doormat when not in use and easily transforms into a locker when needed.

How do I attach the mat to my to my porch?

It's easy! We provide construction adhesive with your order for a quick and simple glue down application.

If you're looking for added security, you can also secure the lock mat with concrete anchors or by fastening it to your door threshold. We're here to help! What if I get multiple deliveries from different carriers?

Your three-digit code can be shared with drivers by either notating it on the delivery instructions or by adding it to your address line (just like you would an apartment or suite). With the code, the drivers can open the locker to add their packages. If the lock mat is not yet deployed with a previous delivery, they do not need a code to use it.

We recommend creating an online account with all major carriers. You'll be able to add your code (and any other details) directly to their delivery instructions. These instructions apply to all packages being delivered to your home by them, not just the packages you've ordered. Don't forget Amazon!

While USPS cannot use a code to access a parcel locker, they can use the mail slot located on the front of the Lock Mat when it's in use.

Can the lock be reset?

Yes, as many times as you want! It can be easily reset by flipping the bottom switch from the left to the right (while in the unlocked position) and resetting the numbers to your new desired code. Once done, flip the bottom switch back and the lock is ready to use with your new code.

What size packages will fit in the Lock Box?

The vast majority, about 95% of the packages delivered to the average consumer. The inside of the box measures 26" x 18" x 15" and fits a lot!

How do carriers access the mat?

The first delivery of the day can deploy the locker (and lock your package inside) without the need to enter any code. Any subsequent deliveries while the box is locked will require that the driver has the 3 digit code, which can be provided by putting the code in the delivery memo or at the end of the address. WIll the Lock Mat fit in front of my door?

DesertVault is designed to fit in front of all doorways that are built to international building codes - which is the vast majority of homes, but will also fit in front of most that are not built to code. You just need a flat area that's 36" wide x 20" deep in front of your doorway to set it up. The Lock Mat works great for houses, condos, townhomes, and apartments! It's only 1.5" tall when in mat mode, which is shorter than most doorsteps.

What is your return policy?

OUR POLICY

At DesertVault, we value your satisfaction and aim to make your shopping experience pleasant. If you wish to return a product or request a refund, we want to ensure a smooth process for you. While we strive to minimize defective products, there might be rare instances where an exchange is necessary. Here is a detailed outline of our return/refund policy and how to proceed with exchanging a defective item:

RETURNS

Customers are responsible for the return shipping costs. However, in many situations, we are happy to provide a pre-paid return label to facilitate the return process. In such cases, the associated return shipping fees will be deducted from the total refund amount when the product(s) arrive and the refund is processed. You can return products under the following conditions:

  • The product(s) must be returned within 30 days of the original purchase.
  • The product(s) should be in new condition, unused.
  • The product(s) must be in their original packaging. If the packaging is opened or removed, a full refund cannot be provided.

EXCHANGES / DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS

If you suspect that you have received a defective product, please email hello@desertvault.co for assistance. For customers who have received a defective item and wish to exchange it or request a refund, we are pleased to offer pre-paid return labels. Please note that products can only be exchanged for similar items of equal or lesser value. If an exchange results in a partial refund, it will be issued during the physical exchange process.
